WASCO HIGH ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCES TENTH CLASS AHEAD OF OCTOBER INDUCTION

Wasco, CA - The Wasco Union High School Athletic Hall of Fame (WUHS HOF) is set to induct its tenth class of deserving honorees on October 10, 2026.

This milestone class is comprised of Celise Carroll (basketball and track), Legacy Inductee Coach Bill Clement (swimming), Samuel Garcia (cross country and track), Zach Johnson (wrestling), Kyle Krause (basketball), Brent Paul (football), Dennis Stowe (baseball, basketball, football and track), Chris Wedel (baseball and football) and 2015 Valley Champion Girls Tennis Team

Wasco Union High School District Superintendent and WUHS HOF President Kevin Tallon stated: “This tenth induction class is a powerful reflection of the tradition, pride and excellence that define Wasco High athletics. From championship performances to lifelong contributions that shaped our school culture, each inductee has left a lasting legacy for future Tigers to follow. These honorees represent generations of dedication, achievement and pride in Wasco High. On behalf of the Wasco High Athletic Hall of Fame Board, we look forward to celebrating these outstanding individuals and teams with our community on October 10.”

This marks the inaugural induction of the newly-established Legacy category, which recognizes individuals whose impact on WUHS Athletics predates 1990. Not only did Clement coach boys and girls swimming but has the distinction of having carved out the design for the Wasco High School Sports Crest. He painted the Crest that still hangs in the WHS gym. This Crest serves as a recognizable school logo which is included on many Valley Championship team rings and other school memorabilia.

The tenth class of accomplished alumni and coaches includes four League Champions (Carroll, Clement,  Garcia and Johnson), two All-League honorees (Krause and Stowe), one All-Area recipient (Krause), three State championship competitors (Carroll, Johnson and Stowe), two All-Americans (Carroll and Wedel), six college athletes (Carroll, Johnson, Krause, Paul, Stowe and Wedel), one college coach (Paul), four Valley Champions (Garcia, Johnson, Paul and 2015 Tennis Team) and one professional athlete (Stowe).

“The winning tradition enjoyed at Wasco High has been built and maintained through decades of dedication, desire, and determination. This induction class is representative of the type of athletes and coaches who have striven for excellence, and in doing so brought great honor to themselves and their alma mater. We are proud to hold them up as examples of the best that Wasco has to offer and welcome them to their rightful place in the Wasco High Athletic Hall of Fame” said Director of Athletics and Activities Joshua Huddleston.

Nominations were made online and voted on by the WUHS HOF Board to determine the nine honorees. Since its inception, the WUHS HOF has inducted nearly 100 athletes/teams/contributors/coaches beginning in 2009. Currently a new class is honored every two years with the next induction planned for 2028.
